New Service Allows Property Owners to Pay Utilities and Bills Online
For foreigners who own property in Costa Rica, managing and paying bills can be challenging without a local bank account. Many property owners have preferred not to deal with the hassle and typically lean on a local property manager to help them make payments, specifically with their electric bills. Still, it seems Costa Rica has FINALLY solved this dilemma.
If you are a property owner in Costa Rica, you can now conveniently pay for electricity, water, cable and phone services online. This is incredibly good news as it solves a problem owners have had for years. You can sign up and learn more about this service here
The most common utility bills in Costa Rica include:
-
Electricity (ICE, CNFL, JASEC, ESPH, Coopelesca, etc.)
-
Water (AyA or a local ASADA)
-
Internet and Cable (Kolbi, Claro, Tigo, Cabletica)
-
Cell Phone (ICE/Kolbi, Claro, Movistar)
-
Municipal Services (trash collection, property tax)
Make sure you have your account number or customer ID for each service, which is usually printed on your bill. For more questions and assistance with properties in Costa Rica reach out here.
